Located in Melbourne, Australia, Ikebana International Melbourne, Chapter #29 brings together a vibrant community of flower enthusiasts!

Ikebana is a traditional cultural art form of Japan. Our organisation supports the promotion, teaching, and learning of Ikebana in the Melbourne community for the past 65 years.

Our Chapter represents the Ikebana Schools of: Ikenobo ; Sogetsu , Ichiyo , Shogetsudo koryu ; Ohara, and Wafu. We foster sharing of ideas in a vibrant Ikebana community and bring senior practicing teachers and students together through the Schools. 

We invite you to become an Ikebana enthusiast and can help you begin, or continue your journey in the wonderful cultural art form of Ikebana. 

ABOUT IKEBANA INTERNATIONAL

Ikebana International (I.I.) is a global non-profit dedicated to promoting ikebana. Founded in 1956 by Ellen Gordon Allen, I.I. unites people worldwide through a shared love of nature and ikebana. With nearly 140 chapters in over 44 countries, I.I. welcomes anyone who shares its motto, "Friendship through Flowers."

I.I. embraces all ikebana schools, offering members opportunities to explore diverse styles, philosophies, histories, and techniques through meetings, demonstrations, exhibitions, and other events. This global community of approximately 7,000 members, many of whom also enjoy other traditional Japanese arts, benefits from the rich exchange of knowledge and inspiration. I.I. is unique in that it is founded and run almost entirely by volunteers.
